God I only wish, but we'd have a better chance of seeing Denise Richards titties on TV than seeing that happen....

Country: | I would rather vote for McCain than Hillary, too, and I agree that Powell would be a good choice, but he's flat-out stated that he has little interest in elected politics. He doesn't want the job, sadly. I don't think it's because he's scared or because he knows a woman will get the job first, though. I think he's just sick of the whole scene, you know?
Yeah, it was definitely politics that stopped us from taking out Hussein in the first Gulf War. Sadly, Bush's concern for the economy regarding his re-election didn't save him from the wrath of Clinton. I think Powell knew that we would be in a sticky situation whether we went for Hussein or not. Instead of being criticized for not going after Hussein, Powell would have been criticized for crippling an already poor economy and committing our troops for years (just as Bush is being criticized now). It was (and still is) a lose-lose situation.
I have no interest in seeing Rice as a presidential candidate.

Country: | Education: Should be made a high priority, and teachers should have a 200% increase in their wages....
Welfare: Get a job from the Illegal Mexicans that will be horded up by the thousands and sent back to ol Mexico with a burrito under each arm....
Social Services: Very important, but the rules and eligibility would be specifically administered...
Illegal Immigration??? U all know where I stand on that one....

Country: | Teachers complaining that they are "under-paid" is a crock of ****. Do you know how much teachers make? And who's going to pay for this 200% pay increase? I'm pretty sure it would have to be the taxpayers, eh?
You think those jobs from illegal immigrants will pay enough for a single mom with five children?
What do you think about labor unions?

What do you think about labor unions? | Delusional do you have any children? I do as do alot of us here. Children are our future. Our future in the USA, Canada, Uk every where. What better investment can you think of then investing into your future. Without our children aka our future we are doomed. While I agree paying those teachers who guide, teach and molded our children more money might hard, it is worth it. Who would you rather see with the money? Politicians or Teachers?
Our children are everything, I would die for mine without even thinking about it. Paying a extra $50-$100 a year in taxes is nothing as long as it goes to the teachers. Without great teachers our children are starting life off on the wrong foot or with a disadvantage right off the hop. I say lets make the teacher career attractive so we get great people teaching our kids. Then we will have the smartest kids. Smart kids grow up to be smart leaders, scientists, inventors, business people, etc.

Country: | Excellent points hunter, readin my mind again are u???
Teachers are waaaayyy underpaid for the services they provide.... I dont know what they make up by u Delusi, but down here in Mississippi, in Virginia, Florida, New York and Alabama, they make less than the guys who pick up the garbage every week.......
Got that???
Teachers with 5 years experience make less than the average garbage man..... Quote: |

Labor Unions may end up, in the future, becoming the bane of our society... It could go both ways... While Unions are good for the common laborer or craftsman, they hurt the general economy to an extent.... I dont know enough about the subject to give an accurate accounting of it....

Country: | hmmmmmmmm you must be speaking of the south and east entirely les, teachers here are overpaid in my mind, some of the administrators on the other hand with having to put up with teachers and above opinion by directors B.S. is another matter indeed, putting in 14 hr shifts 6 days a week for a pentance. Sorry to say the education principles are getting lost in the new age of environmental awareness and other crock. Screw others, do it for yourself at anyones cost, so I have been told.
getting a little off track am I |

I hate people on social services (unless it is for a short time only to get back on your feet, then ok), some sit on it for years!! Thats crap!! I have worked my azz off since I was 14. Working all sorts of crappy jobs, if I can do it then so can everyone else. Someone says they are worth more then working some crappy job.... prove it to me. If you are worth so damn much then get a job. Anyone and I mean anyone on social services should have to do social work for the government while they are on it. Time off is given for putting in resumes or interviews fine, other then that you work 40 hours a week like the rest of us. Sweep streets or pick up garbage do something, hell shovel dog crap for that matter out of parks.... anything. It pisses me off to work my azz off 40-50 hours week and then hear about people sitting at home playing video games on welfare. I am paying them to play freaking video games!! BullSh*t, get out and work do something for your city to earn your keep until you get a job.
I have helped my Mom pay her rent when I was 17 old!! i have worked full time since I was 19 and sometimes working 3 jobs at once. I hate lazy people.

Country: | Maybe they are paid less where you live, because here, they get paid a lot more than policemen! One former teacher of mine (who was a total idiot!) was paid about $20,000 more a year than a policeman I know who works in a city of over 100,000 people! Here they start out at about $32,000 a year. A teacher of retirmement age makes anywhere from $40,000 to $70,000 a year.
Furthmore, increasing the pay for teachers will not bring better teachers. In fact, it would have the reverse effect. Taking away money for politicians would not give it to teachers.
Do you think that everyone who uses welfare is actually abusing it? This is an honest question. Surely some people use it for its true intentions?
Well, when you reach a position on labor unions, I'll decide my vote, lol. So far, so good. You're a true hardass, Les.
