Country: | I too believe he should hang for what he has done. This however will make it harder on the troops in Iraq. Violence will increase.

Do you feel the increase will be a temporary affair or have more signifanct long term effects?
As long as having made the decision they move forward quickly with the deed, otherwise it will get ugly.

Country: | should do it like the Israeli's ............ a little night mission in the middle of the desert, shoot him, and bury him in an unmarked grave ....... nothing public to bring up supporting sentiment which this will do if drawn out to a long closure

Country: | I wa intersted to read that the reason for hanging as opposed to shooting is that he failed to pass the Military Academy entry exam. He appointed himself Field Marshall after he became president.

Country: | I have suspected this would be the result ever since the trial started (I believe it was a show trial more than anything else). It won't improve the situation in Iraq but it will please most Iraqi's who are glad to finally see the back of him. Hanging is probably too easy a way for him to die (as Erich said impalement would of been better) but at least he will be dead...

Country: | Bush said yesterday in such and such words "I felt it was the right decision to take down Saddam."
It sounded pretty tough. And that's why Saddam will hang. Unless the insurgents and his supporters can get tougher by starting a civil war.

Country: | Civil War will happen.
The Shiites are happy to see Saddam Hang and the Sunnis have called for revenge for the death of Saddam when it happens and blaming the Shiites for it happening.. The country is allready on the verge of a Civil War and this will be the final nail in the coffin...

Country: | And Saddam and his lawyers get an instant appeal. They can even review the rusulting punishment to ascertain whether the punishment severity matches the verdict. And then the 30 day clock begins to tick.
I like the Isreali method posted above. Much more classy.
