| You are welcome, Wayne and Ariete! Let's enjoy modeling each other though mine is CG PS: Attached image has nothing to do with Saburo Sakai. It's simply my imaginary operation and has no historical background!

| Thanks Wayne... Because of your generousity enough to ignore my careless funny sun-ray setting on the island, I have been re-making this Iwo-jima scene for your satisfactory evaluation with my best skill. Thank you very much, mate! You are my teacher

| Hi Shinpachi, That connector between the drop tank and the fuselage looks a little odd. Was that really all that held that tank on the plane? Those Zeros look excellent! - Ivan. |

| After seeing all these cool pics I think we need to add an Imperial Japanese GB to the list! I know the subject has been covered in the PTO GB, i just want an excuse to build a well worn japanese bird!

| Thank you every one for enjoying the zero fighter images. The drop tank connector on my image was the later type with no wind cover unlike the early type. Thanks Ivan.

What is your opinion of the movie "Ozora no samurai (Samurai in the sky)"? I have a copy that I have seen a few times but my Japanese is not too good so I have never been able to evaluate the dialog for authenticity. I have not shown the movie to many of my friends because the special effects are "old style" and most of them would not have the patients to sit through the combat scenes. I like the effects (models on strings) they remind me of "Ishiro Honda's" work, and I have many good memories of watching his films as a child. Thanks ![]() p.s. I'm not sure that the movie, "Ozora no samurai (Samurai in the sky)", includes his involvement in Iwo-jima...I think it ends with his injury over Guadalcanal. I have included a photo from near the end of the movie... Last edited by proton45; 09-11-2009 at 02:55 AM. | |
