Tempest Cutaway

Nice! If there is one airplane I would love to see and hear, it's a Tempest with that lovely Sabre engine...But, it will never happen.

Am i to take by two eagles post that there are no airworthy Tempests left thats a shame.

I know they have one preserved in the museum in London, but I do not believe there are any flying Tempests, or Typhoon's for that matter.
And I don't know of anybody who static runs a Napier Sabre. More is the pity there, eh?

As far as Im aware theres only one Mk V complete and thats in target tug colours (bumble bee)

There are a lot of Mk IIs around though.

Only one complete Hawker Typhoon still survives - MN235 - and it is on display at the RAF Museum in Hendon, North London. It was previously on display at the Smithsonian Institute before being presented to the museum in comemmoration of the RAF's 50th anniversary in exchange for a Hawker Hurricane.
