The Ashes Thread

Well gents the Ashes series is just around corner with the first test starting on the 23rd of November in Brisbane. Here's the place to discuss everything to do with this great series. My predictions are for an Aussie victory 4-1!

PS Just heard that Marcus Trescothick is heading back to England because he's home sick again

Yes, shame really although he wasn't batting that well... BBC SPORT | Cricket | The Ashes | Trescothick to miss Ashes series he is being replaced by Ed Joyce:
BBC SPORT | Cricket | The Ashes | Uncapped Joyce wins Ashes call-up

I doubt it will be 4-1 and I hope for a close series (with England retaining the Ashes of course). I would say maybe 2-1 (2 draws), 2-2 or 3-2...

Also remember last year the Aussie's predicted a 5-0 whitewash and we all know what happened then

Well hopefully it won't be a whitewash to any side. More exciting if it's close!

Good article Lanc, I liked how play had to stop because a Chinese rocket was found in the out field!
That famous game the Aussies played at Gallipoli under shell fire would have been a site to see! I bet no one was keeping score!

PS Les, maybe your lot would enjoy the newest version of the game called twenty20, it's all about big hitting and big beer drinking!

Remember what happened last time...

You thrashed us in the first test and then we got the upper hand and won the series...
