| Former NY Giant Plaxico Burress Agrees to Two Years in Weapons Case Thursday, August 20, 2009 NEW YORK — Former New York Giant Plaxico Burress has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in the weapons case against him and has agreed to a two-year prison term for accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub. The ex-wide receiver pleaded guilty Thursday morning to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Under a plea agreement, he agreed to a two-year prison sentence and two years of supervised release. Burress was indicted earlier this month on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. He faced a minimum sentence of 3 1/2 years if convicted at a trial. TO

  | He shoots himself and gets 2 years, but if he killed somebodu while DUI he would have gotten 21 days. There is just something wrong with the legal system.

That's the difference between a DUI charge of 21 days, and a two year charge for bringing a loaded weapon into a public place.
