Team colours....

Just been watching some rugby down at the local pick up joint ...
Why does the New Zealanders and the Australian have the colours they do? I don't see black or green/yellow in their national flags, please do explain...
I am NOT gonna tell you how long or how many times I had correct myself here.

New Zealanders don't play for New Zealand, they play for the All Blacks
No idea about Australia.
England match was a pile of cr*p but it wasn't as bad as the first match of the tour

Happens quite a lot, although I've no idea why. Our football team wears blue shorts, Italy wear blue shirts in rugby and football, Germany white and so on. At a club level it's often to do with the club's founder or inital backer. They would often play in his racing or lucky colours. Not sure about national teams though

Australia is green and gold because of the Golden Wattle, which is our national floral emblem....I think
