now this is just wrong.

England have drawn Croatia again in the world cup. And sports experts are saying this can be revenge time and we can beat Croatia....

How...? didn't Croatia outplay England...twice? and yet these fools still think England can beat Croatia. Don't they consider that Croatia might just be a good side and England arent ?

Welcome to what is wrong in English football...all stupid and no brains.

Germay drew Russia, Finland, Wales, Azerbaijan, and Lichtenstein.

Should be pretty easy for them to Qualify.

Yeah they can get pretty intense as well.

Do you remember this from the 1990 World Cup:

The major problem with England is they're all too big to play together properly. They care too much about their own status and bank balance to play for the nation, the Croatia manager mentioned this before the first game. You saw the similar thing happen in Arsenal when Henry left - everyone believed he was the greatest player for Arsenal, but because he was so massive he held the team back.

Group 9 won't be easy for anyone in there, especially with Scotland playing like they have been.

I have to agree pD. It seems like England is made of really good players that dont know how to play as a team together.

Other teams such as Italy, Germany, France, Croatia, Czech make the best with the great players they have.

I've been an avid reader of this forum since 2002, but never joined - this topic was the clencher. Not easy being a football fan (don't mean the American version) in the states.

Locally the only widely aired action is MLS (US's "Major League Soccer" which is neither "major league" nor real "soccer") and ESPN features of US national team games - in which the announcers always seem to act like the US team is the favorite.

Whether favored or not the US team never lives up to its billing, but then again in the states, most folks are too busy watching NASCAR/televised poker and drinking very bad beer to worry about futbal.

Greatly appreciate your efforts: nice to be up-to-date on the real happenings.

I will take a look at them.

Right now I am watching FC Bayern Munich play in the UEFA Cup. They are tied 0-0 at half time at the moment.

Okay I take that back 1 min and 10 seconds into the 2nd Half 1-0 for Bayern Munich with a goal from Miroslav Klose!

I just got done watching the drawing for the group stage of Euro 2008 live on TV. Wow Germany ended up in a pretty good group and as long as they qualify for the knock out stage they will end up playing the one of the top 2 teams from Group A which is a pretty easy group as well.

What about Group C though? That is a killer group! It is the hardest group in the group stage and Italy has to play France first. I am glad Germany did not end up in that group.

Here are the groups.

Group A
1. Switzerland
2. Czech Republic
3. Portugal
4. Turkey

Group B
1. Austria
2. Croatia
3. Germany
4. Poland

Group C
1. Netherlands
2. Italy
3. France

4. Romania

Group D
1. Greece
2. Sweden
3. Spain
4. Russia
