Country: | Quote: Tevez completes Manchester United move times Online and Agencies
Carlos Tevez has completed his move to Manchester United according to his agent, Kia Joorabchian, ending the most complex and long-running transfer saga in English football history.
The impasse betweeen the players' representatives and his club, West Ham United, was finally overcome last night when Joorabchian agreed a compensation package with the Londoners, who will be paid £2 million to end the dispute in exchange for the club releasing the registration of the Argentina forward.
Tevez met his new team-mates today, with the last hurdle to the completion of the transfer being overcome just after 1600BST when it was ratified by the Premier League.
“This will lead to the cancellation of Tevez’s registration, thereby releasing him to join another club in due course,” a league statement confirmed.
Joorabchian, who fronts Media Sports Investments (MSI) and Just Sports Inc (JSI), the companies that own the economic rights to the player, confirmed today that he has withdrawn the writ issued against West Ham last week in an attempt to force the club to release Tevez.
A statement issued his behalf said: “We are delighted that a settlement has been reached between all parties to secure Carlos Tevez’s move from West Ham United to Manchester United.
“The agreement brings an end to the legal proceedings started by us against West Ham United in the High Court last week. Our primary concern has always been to resolve this issue amicably and to allow Carlos to pursue his ambition to play for Manchester United.
“Carlos is looking forward to being a Manchester United player and his ambition is close to being achieved. We would like to thank Manchester United for all their patience and support throughout.”
West Ham said in a statement: “West Ham United can confirm that a settlement has been reached today with the representatives of Carlos Tevez which will allow the player to leave the club.
“The settlement ends the current litigation taking place between the respective parties and provides for a £2 million fee to be paid to West Ham.
“The agreement confirms that West Ham do have a valid player’s contract with Carlos Tevez and hold the registration of the player. This will be released once the agreed fee has been paid to the club.
“The terms of the settlement are consistent with undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League and the rules of The Football Association.”
West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson was relieved the affair has finally been concluded.
“I am obviously pleased that we have finally reached the end of this saga through agreement and common sense," he said.
“All parties involved can now move on and truly focus on the new season. I wish Carlos Tevez well for the next stage of his playing career. He is a fine player and I am sure he will be successful wherever he plays football.
“Personally, I am looking forward to the next stage of our development as a club and for what I hope will be a very exciting new season in the Premier League.”
Sources close to Joorabchian confirmed Tevez passed his medical in Manchester this morning before visiting the club’s training ground to meet his new team-mates and United officials.
Tevez will not be involved in Sunday’s Community Shield game against Chelsea at Wembley - but will begin training over the weekend in preparation for the start of the new Premier League season.
Tevez has agreed to move to United for an initial loan of two seasons, with a fee of £10 million payable to MSI and JSI and the option of buying him permanently for a further £20 million. He will earn in excess of £3.5 million a season and is expected to make his debut against Reading at Old Trafford on Sunday week.

Country: | Well so far Germany is leading England 2-1 in Wembley Stadium. Overall though it has been a very sloppy game by both teams and could go either way.

Country: | Well Germany pulled it off and beat England 2-1.
Overall as I said the game was very sloppy. Neither team played very well. In the beginning of the first half England came out quite strong and Germany looked very unorganized. This was a bit understandable because Germany was playing with 5 new players including 2 that had no National Level Experience.
England scored in the 9th minute to take a 1-0 lead with a goal from Frank Lampard. In about the 20th minute Germany began to play much better and showing there young talent. Germany pretty much dominated the rest of the 1st half from about the 20th minute to the 45th min. All in all though it was still very sloppy play.
In the 26th minute Germany equalized and made the score 1-1 with a goal from Kevin Kuranyi. 14 min later 1st time National Team player Christian Pander scored again for Germany to make the score 2-1.
After half time Germany continued to play quite well but still both teams were sloppy. Within several minutes England substitued out 6 players to basically have a fresh team.
Whatever the substitution was worth or not it did the trick for England. For the remainder of the game England played very well. Game was still sloppy for both sides but England put the pressure on Germany. There were 3 to 4 shots on goal right after one another for England.
The 2nd half was pretty exciting due to the better play of England.
In the end though it was 2-1 for Germany!
It was only a Friendly match however as many have said before there is no such thing as a friendly match between Germany and England. There is too much pride and bragging rights involved. Germany has the bragging rights atleast until next time...
