Just started a rubber powered FW-190, tonight. I've attached a pic
of half of the fuselage and the elevator. More pic's to follow as the
work progresses.

The blue thing on the left with the white knob is a square.... all the
better to get the fuselage formers straight.

Hey Charles looks great! I get a sinking feelin that ever since I sent the other two, your wife's not too happy with me!

I'm looking forward to the painting for the Butcher Bird.

Not at all..... she sez it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars...
I was evicted from the kitchen table, tho. Wurger is suppose to get
me a FW-190 ace's colors, and I'll try to do it up right.

Charles

Looking forward to seeing this one Charles, luftwaffe experten my favorite subject! I can also help with details if you want, just sing out for more options. I suspect Wurger will come up with some good choices.

As you requested My friend , there is one of the profiles of Fw190A4.Perhaps it is not the most impressive one but we should remember about weight of the model ( powered by rubber it should be really light).Besides there shouldn't be any problem to make it.
The profile and a pic show Fw190A-4 of the Staffelkapitan 9./JG2 "Richthofen" Hauptmann Siegfried Schnell. The Fw presents typical markings used on Fw 190 fighting over The English Channel in 1942/43.On its rudder there are painted his first 40 victories ( the number+Ritterkreuz+The RAF roundel as the bacground) and then below it, the next 35 victories (the last four were the American planes).During struggles in the Western front Schnell downed 87 enemy aircraft among them there were 3 heavy bombers. Then he was moved to JG54 as Kommandeur IV./JG54 in the Eastern front where he gained 6 other victories. He was shot down by the Russian fighters on the 25th February.

Wurger: These photos will be fine. I doubt that I can come up with any
decals..... That eagle's head on the cowl and forward part of the fuselage.
Will probably take some free-jhand work. We'll have to wait and see.
Also, the three bladed prop is going to be a BIG problem. The Gullows model
people must have bought every red prop in the states. The Floatplane had
a red prop, the Fairchild 24 had a red prop.... this one has a red prop. Bah !

Charles

I think that the three bladed prop is not a problem.Simply you have to make by your hand.If you want you can re-paint the red prop with the Schwarzgrun RLM 70 colour ( it will be for flying) and the scratch-built one for exhibition for instance.Of course you have to make two different spinners for each prop. Also the decals aren't any trouble.Do you have a good laser printer or a look-in?

How about one in the markings of the North Africa campaign? Don't see too many of them (weren't too many at the end as it was.) The graphic on the box gave me the idea.

It's true. There is a colour profile of Fw 190A-4 of 6./JG2 flown by Erich Rudorffer who scored a total of 224 victories.Other infos on him there:

Aces of the Luftwaffe - Erich Rudorffer

The Fw190 was cloured with RLM 76/79/80 camo pattern.
The profile-source unknown.

Wurger Njaco: I like that one too... Shouldn't be too hard to do.
Thanks....

Charles

Dear Charles,
Of course there is a way to make your own decals. Therefore I've asked you about the good quality printer.:)
And certainly I'll help you with this as much as possible.:D

Wurger: Thanks.... I'm all ears ! I have access to several black white
good quality printers, and several color ones, too.
