Hi all
Here are some WIP photos of my recent project.
Any comments or critics are welcome.
Here is the box art, this is an Airfix 1/72, not the new moulds I'm afraid!

It required some surgery to the nose.

Some work on the auxiliary drop tank, in this case I used a Tamiya spared parts I had in my spare parts box.

Some scratch built work inside the cockpit: seat, floor, control stick and instrument panel.

More some work on the nose radiator

Canopy masked, in old fashioned way (cut and paste)

Based on the photo below I did some improvement to the sand filter

Added the pitot tube and fuselage antenna (scratch built from syringe needles)

Now it's ready for the fun part (painting time!)

Pre-shade done using Tamiya acrylics XF01

Following I did apply the underside colour, in this case I followed this indication:

I use a program to generate the colour mix called Alquimia, you input (in this case) the RGB numbers for the shade (for the Ligh Blue "DN-colour = 156/186/181) and it returns with the formula to mix using Tamiya colours (my preference). For this particular shade it was 8*XF23+1*XF02.

Here is the result:

As usual I applied very thin coats (1 part paint : 4 parts thinner X20A).

Hi Sancer this is a free software called Alquimia das Cores and it runs in flash, so you can install and run in Mac and PC. The down side for most is that it is in Brazilian Portuguese only.
Basically you list all the paints you have, than you choose the ones you want to use (in my case Tamiya acrylics, and select all available colours I have), you can then select how you want to chose the shades (FS, RGB, CMYK, or even using a tool that captures any colour displaying in your screen), and than you click and it does all the work. Google: ALQUIMIA DAS CORES and you'll find his blog with some demonstration videos and a link for download. Give it a try and if you need help just gimme a yell!
