The official title for the RAF cockpit colour was Interior Grey Green. However, it wasn't used throughout the interiors, typically being reserved for the cockpit area. Away from the cockpit itself, the interior of most RAF aircraft were aluminium lacquer.

Note that early in the war, the actual shade of Interior Grey Green was highly variable, some relics apparently showing an eau de nil shade.
 
And to add to the fun, each manufacturer in the US, at least, seemed to have its own interpretation of the color required. As only one example, the cockpit colors of Curtiss-built P-47s differed noticeably from Republic built ones. I remember also similar issues with various areas in Ford-built B-24s, compared to Consolidated-built units. Just a couple of high-lights...
