Agreed re the extent of cribbage - but I don't think it's a European game which would take the Cicogna out of the picture. My hubby learned it from his father. His father was 2IC of a RAF base during WW2, and they lived in a demountable unit on the other side of the base - presumably to be able to take command if the commander was lost in bombing.. There were no kids to play with, so dad taught them cribbage. And then he taught me. I have over sixty boards, most from the USA and then the UK. None from Canada that I am aware of ... until now. I am in the process of contacting Air Canada to see if it's connected with their early days. I just found the rules of 'Canadian Cribbage' which may have slight variations from the UK and US game.
