BBMF 50th Anniversary

Back on the 5th of May 07, the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) held a 50th Anniversary air show at Duxford. That is the BBMF's 50th year of operation !!!!!

Had to go really, would have been rude not to !.

The weather in the morning was yuck !, overcast, cold, windy...just the right weather for trying to take pictures of aeroplanes really !!!.

Included with the Lanc, Spit's and Hurri's where the flights Dak and two Chippies (look quite nice in gloss black I reckon !)

Fortunately, the weather sort of broke abit around midday, so managed to get some fairly good cloud backdrops. Unfortunately, at the time I only had a 200mm zoom so most of the in-flight shots aren't that good.

Carolyn Grace had her two seater there and I just had to convert one of the shots I took of her into B/W for an 'atmospheric' shot.

During the display, we where treated to a 'Heritage' flypast of classic thoroughbred....and a noisy jet. Have to say that the Typhoon was having trouble keeping up with Spitty !.

Anyway, enough of the typing, on with the pics.....there are quite afew, you have been warned.

Nearly there...

They only did one flyby with the 'Bomber' and all the fighters before splitting up for some smaller passes
