| USAF Museum, Dayton, Ohio Here's a few pics...in randonmish order... of my visit to the USAF Museum at Dayton. This is truly a treasure trove of 'planes, well laid out in seperate halls for R&D, Presidential, Cold War, WW2 etc. Stacks of space to move around and take pics and surprisingly, no long periods waiting for people to move out of the shot you had lined up. I could spend a day in each of the halls, clicking away and just standing back and looking and dreaming. simple things like being able to actually touch the Valkyrie and B36....instead of looking at pictures that do not convey the sheer size and presence of these monsters. It was also nice to see, no-dusty exhibits as well, with very discreet cleaning staff moving around all day. Really nice, and you could see the exhibits where really looked after. I was blown away by that museum. No restriction like flash/tripods and SHOCK HORROR PROBE...even talking to the hall guides (most of whom where volunteers and 'Vets to boot (had some cracking chats with those guys especially the guy in the repro Nissen Hut who used to fly the Starlifter) Anybody who finds themselves with time and transport will absolutely not regret a visit to the museum complex. I'm actually thinking of going back next year just to visit the museum on its own. This'll give me the opportunity to get on the friday visit to the workshops to see the work that goes on in the background. I didn't use flash for any of these shots, just mounted the camera on a tripod, and left it to the camera to sort it all out. Some of the exposures where in excess of 45 seconds so be warned, a tripod is a necessity ! This is THE museum to visit...oh, and its free entry as well.

| And the next lot. The prop from the 'Lady Be Good' is also reported to be haunted. Apparently it affects ladies / girlies more than us blokes but most females report a distinct feeling of unease when in its vicinity. Personaly, I find the whole 'Lady Be Good' story a fascinating 'tradegy'. I've read the book by the guys who found the wreck after the war. And I also believe the film 'Soul Survivor' with Richard Baseheart starring in was based on the 'Lady. I'll post some more later on today (I'm only about half way through !)

| What an awesome museum! Love the crashed BT-13 diorama with the pilot getting an ar*e kicking!  Shame they didn't paint the Beaufighter in its origianl colours, being a RAAF combat vet and all. Oh well.
