    US Dive bomber bombs

The U.S. dive bombers (SBD, SB2C, A-24 etc.) used a yoke type cradle to ensure the centerline bomb did not strike the propeller when dropped. These bombs appear to have had lugs on the sides at 90 degrees from the supporting lug.
Were standard bombs modified on the carriers or were bombs made special for dive bomber use?

    Good question...
“The entrance to the cockpit of this aircraft is most difficult. It should have been made impossible.” — Flight Journal magazine, April 2000, regards the XF10F-1, Grumman's first attempt at a swing wing fighter.

Same question could be asked for the German JU87

As far as know, they were standart bombs.
There is a topic on US bombs : http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/wea...ual-11483.html (1950 US Aircraft bomb manual)
Additionally I advice you look through books form Scale&Detals serie on US aircrafts of WW2. You will find detailed pictures of bomb racks with loaded bombs.
