Market-Garden Commemoration

Extensive commemorations of the 65th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden have been taking place over the last several days. The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team has been taking part in the activities; pictures, links to news articles, and other information can be found at:

Andy

I would LOVE to go to one of those events! Gonna try to make it up to the Airborne Demonstration Day in the spring next year.

Incidentally, my brother's in the Army; after he completed his Jump Training (I think he volunteered for jump, ranger, etc training just so he could get away from his now-ex-wife....she's the devil's sister), he was offered a position on the ADT team. I nearly cried when I found out he turned it down to go back overseas to Iraq (didn't know about satan's sister at the time....makes perfect sense now, though).

Yeah, that is cool, wish I could get into one of those.
Hey RA, what does she look like, and if I meet her, what should I do?

On a more serious note, I'm glad there still holding commemorations like this, for the soldiers who fought and died during this operation.

Good to know the Anniversary is being celebrated in the 'States. I was fortunate enough to be on the 30th Anniversary drop at Arnhem in 1974 - one heck of an occassion!

You'll smell the brimstone before you meet her....and I'd recommend finding an airplane to jump out of, Mr. Cooper.

Thanks RA. From what you said, even if I don't have a parachute, I'd prefer death than meeting her.
