| F4u Corsair 1/48 Hasegawa's original kit! This is the Hasegawa 1/48 scale first offering of a Corsair. It had raised panel lines and came in a dark blue plastic ,unlike todays standard gray.original purchase price was $5.00 us back in 80's.I scribed all the panel lines and borrowed the rockets from Academy's P-47.The cockpit even though its hard to see is from Squadron true details.the paint used is Testors model masters gloss sea blue. |

| The one thing that strikes me tho, is how bright the panel lines are... Ive been all around the Corsair, including some pretty beat up machines, and I dont really recall them being so well defined.... As far as the decals are concerned, I noticed that ur panel lines are etched through the decals... Is this a correct view, cause if it is, Im gonna start doing that then...

| Yes Dan of course the weathering on panels is also gonna be Highlighted through the aircraft markings especially due to them being painted on the real aircraft."GO for Broke" |

| Beautiful airplane. Too bad the canopy is not more clear. Excellent job. I have heard that you can use a floorwax on the clear acrylic parts. Anyone tried that trick to clear up scale windows?

| Yes ive used future many times .The kits canopy was a bit thick. Dan just do some experimenting with the wash. rememeber a little goes a long way, you can allways add but cant take off with out complications. also i like to use acrylic washes over oil based enamels. its allways a little riscky using enamel washes on enamel finishes.Allthough it can be done once you get used to the system. |
