God not another Lanc' lol

Hi Guys,

Finished this toady, well nearly finished it.

I started this one before my other one which is in the 'build section'
This bird is a 'one off ' because each side has different codes/serials
AR * Q, W4988 and AR * ! , JB657 and is built for a friend in Canada
AR * Q has hand painted nose art. The kit is as can be expected...Airfix.

I've had a one problem with it the letter for JB657 AR * !is not obtainable

When it's finally finished she'll be on her maiden flight to my friends house in Canada

The nose art of Queenie !

W4988 AR * Q on this side.

Tail shot.

JB657. on this side What is the letter ????

Queenie looks a proper Queen, don't forget i hand painted these, not the yellow gas patch though.

Camo looks 'bang on' also canopy is hand painted.

The underside is done in Humbrol coal black H85.

Thanks for looking and if anyone knows that letter please let me know

So how many Lancasters do you have dotted around your house, Ian?
I'm imagining a mini-RAF Bomber Command...

You can never have too many Lancs. Ask "Bomber" Harris.

Great looking bomber!

Hi there - that's a very nice Lanc you've made there.
Here's a little info on Lancaster W4988:
Lancaster W4988
And here's a little on JB657:
Lost Bombers - World War II Lost Bombers
It seems like it's two different Lancasters who crashed at two different locations at two different dates, but I may be wrong, as I don't know much about Lancasters.

Every Lancaster I see is done in this scheme. Was there any others?
