Hawker Hurricane sub collection - current project

Hello to all

My name is Santiago Hrubisko and I live in Argentine. My father and I have an interesting collection of aircraft in 1/72. We use to build our models by series / sub collection. We have just finished the CAC subcollection (which include all the aircraft designed, builld and flown during the WWII by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation) and now is time for the Hawker Hurricane. We have already done 17 models and we estimate that the final number will be near 100 Hurricane.

This is the list of the 17 Hurricanes done so far.
Hurricane Prototype
Hurricane Mk I L1551 - Sqn 111 - Northolt, UK - July 1938
Hurricane Mk I L1584 - Sqn 111 - Circa - July 1938
Hurricane Mk I L1599 - Sqn 56 - Circa - Late 1938
Hurricane Mk I L1669 Mk I Trop - Martlesham Heath prior to its depatch to Khartoum - May-39
Hurricane Mk I L1750 - A/AAE - 24/05/1939
Hurricane Mk I Pabby III - Sqn 73 - Rouvres, France - Early 1940

Hurricane Mk I Y L2006 - Group Pilot Pool - Sutton Bridge – 1939

Hurricane Mk I SO/K P3221 – 145 Sqn - Westhampnett - August 1940
Hurricane Mk I MF X 57 P3549 - 59 OTU - Pilot Officer Bernardo de Laminat (Anglo Argentine Pilot) - RAF Crosby Eden -April 1942. Used to train combat pilot. The Argentine Volunteer Pilot Officer Bernardo De Laminar used her in air acrobatic, formation flight, form fighter attacks section and dogfight with photogun during April 1942. (Reference: “Wing of Thunder” by Claudio Meunier).
Hurricane Mk I GN/A P3576 – 249 Sqn - Flt Lt. James Nicholson (VC) - Boscombe Down - August 1940
Hurricane Mk I DT/A - V6864 - 257 Sqn - North Weald - Winter 1940/1941
Hurricane Mk I 3 - Z4769 - Takoradi - August 1941
Hurricane Mk I RF/J - V6665 - 303 Sqn - Northolt, UK - August 1940
Hurricane Mk X RA/S - 1380 - 128 RCAF - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia - June / July 1942

This Hurricane X had a cut down Battle propeller. Also is uncommon since they were a very few numbers of RCAF Hurricane carrying the full codes.

I hope you like it

Kind regards

Very cool Santiago. Do you know if the guns were removed from V7476? I'm planning on modelling this aircraft in the near future, most likely in the foliage green over sky blue scheme.

Many thanks Wildcat. I am not sure about that. It was used in a series of trails so it could be possible.

Regarding the Foliage green over sky blue, as per the oppion of Peter Malone and confirmed by Richard Hourigan, this Hurricane was actually painted in Earth Brown and Foliage green. They have helped us a lot with the previous sub colletion (CAC) so we decided to take they piece of advice on this matter.

Kind regards
Santiago

Beautiful collection Santiago! Good luck with further progress!

Are you going o do an RNZAF aircraft? The only confirmation of identity I've found so far (and the aircraft I'll be modelling ) is MK.IIB (trop.) Z5616 of 488 (NZ) sqn, RAF, later 488 sqn. RNZAF)

Very interesting Santiago. I've always been under the impression that this a/c carried 3 schemes in its service with the RAAF. The standard RAF scheme it was delivered in, foliage green over sky blue with RAAF PTO roundels and finally in overall bare metal/silver. Have you got any pics of her in the colour scheme you have painted yours in? Any help is much appreciated.
