Oki,

That same thing happened to me ages ago... I had a finished Bf 109G-4 from the Battle of Britian, all I had to do was to attach the canopy and during final paintings of it, it fell me into the can of colour...

Cheers,
Pisis

Here is a shot of the wheel wells on the Zero we have. I have been in the cockpit once, but cannot remember for sure the color of the inside of the metal sides. I am thinking it was the same blue as the wells along the sides with a black instrument panel. If you can wait about 2-3 weeks, I will be down at the museum and will see if I can get some cockpit shots.

Yes, the blue is metallic. Here is a close up of the strut and part of the wheel well. Hopefully, this will help more.

There are a couple of ways that you can do the canopy, both take some time, but produce good results. One is to use masking tape to mask off the window portion and use a sharp hobby knife to cut the tape where the painted parts are.

Another way that also works is to use white glue to mask off the non-painted areas. Once the paint is dry, peel out the white glue and voila!

Using either method takes time and patience to get right, but the results are worth it.
