| Never realized the armour plate hinged with the cockpit glass. Can I assume that the armour plate was a war addition, since it looks like all visibility to the rear is spoiled by the plate? Am I missing something? Looks they could just remove the glass aft of the hinged portion.

| Matt, the Armour plate was certainly an addition, and yes it would have cut rearward visibility somewhat...there was also a later version that in fact had a see through bullet proof glass panel added to it...will find a pic! ...in the mean time some closeup cockpit shots...
