Favorite plane never built (or perhaps as a prototype).

In the twin engine category I would include for Germany the Ta 154A (Jumo 213E) and an, albeit hypothetical, Fw 187 (DB 605). And where is the Ta 152C? For Britain there was also the Westland Whirlwind.

    Me 209 (1943) - what's the verdict?

Is it known which wing profile the Me 209 II was using? If it used the one of the Me 109 it was inferior to the Fw 190D in terms of speed and in a dive as it was draggier. Climb performance might have been a tad better as it was lighter. Turn rate should be similar or inferior in a high speed...

Why no Fw 190H but the Ta 152H?

From the vast spaces of the web a Dora with 14% longer fictitious wing span of 12 m (same as the Ki-61/100), growing from out of the wing roots, aspect ratio ~7.2. A bit less than the historical 12.3 m wing of the Fw 190H where the tips were lengthened. Wing area should be about the same, 20 to...

    Jumo 213 vs. Napier Sabre

Maybe the 2900 PS figure is the "speculative" 2800 PS? It looks it.

    Jumo 213 vs. Napier Sabre

The 2900 PS are from Calum. Over 3000 PS with fuel competitive to Allied high-grade ones would have been surely possible.

    Jumo 213 vs. Napier Sabre

That doesn't seem much better than its British and American counterparts. IIRC Calum mentioned that it had by far the best power-to-weight ratio and achieving this with lowly B4 fuel. The figure you're giving is at the lower spectrum of those which were named by different people (sources?). I've...

    Focke Wulf light fighter

I meant the scaling down to be wrt creating a Focke Wulf light fighter with the best piston propulsion.

    Jumo 213 vs. Napier Sabre

The Jumo 213A had been quoted earlier on Wikipedia, same page, as 940 kg. How much did the Griffon equivalent of the 213E weigh? The Griffon 65 weighs about 900 kg which is 40 kg less than its counterpart, the 213A. Was that because of better raw materials lacking in the German aero-engine...

    Focke Wulf light fighter

Calum wrote this. Would that be feasible/possible to scale down a Jumo 213J for the light fighter design's purposes?

    Jumo 213 vs. Napier Sabre

How heavy was the Jumo 213J?

Design and properties of the Spitfire Mk. 21+ wing

Talking about very late marks. They went from the classical supercharger air intake located just a bit behind under the engine to a Mustang-style inlet just right behind under the spinner with the Mk 24, 47 and late Spiteful/Seafang. How much was the speed gain achieved with this alteration...

Design and properties of the Spitfire Mk. 21+ wing

They still had the lowest wing-loading of all super-props so they should be able to out-turn them. And with more than comparably stiffer wings they should/could roll with the best. The faster the fighters became the less important turning ability got.

I included the later marks in the thread title.

Design and properties of the Spitfire Mk. 21+ wing

    Taking Wikipedia as a fast source. Fw 190D-9: Empty weight: 3,490 kg (7,694 lb) Gross weight: 4,270 kg (9,414 lb) Jumo 213E, dry weight: 1040 kg (2,072 lb) Jumo 213A, dry weight: 940 kg Armament: 2 x 42.7 kg + 2 x 16.6 kg = 118.6 kg; Ammo: 90 kg + 38 kg = 128 kg Spitfire Mk. XIV: Empty...
