That accuracy of that analogy would depend on whether most Russians truly believe that the 'special military operation' is really a fight for national survival
I would argue that a good portion of the USSR's manpower during WW2 were coerced into fighting with fear of execution by Barrier troops, rather than motivated for national survival.

Some news filtering out of Russian social media channels and Ukrainian news is that Ukraine has upped the volume of counter-battery fire considerably in the last week or two.

Seems like the combination of accelerating deliveries from the EU and re-starting of US deliveries of 155mm and HIMARS rockets has given Ukraine enough ammunition to cover the requirements of both the front line and to give some of its longer range tube and guided missile artillery systems enough ammunition to go hunting their Russian counterparts again.

First round of Czech purchased shells should be arriving by June too. Although I think these are mostly for older, Soviet-era calibers.

On the flip side drones, rather than opposing MLRS or tube artillery, seem to be the main worry for Ukrainian artillery crews.
