Thyanks M. Don't think the base is going to be particularly spectacular, but if it turns out the way I'm aiming for, it should look OK.
You're right about the builds, there's some fantastic work going on, and the enthusiasm is great. Just a pity we can't all get together with the models for the 'final' - and quite a few beers of course!

Yeah, one day! If I ever win the Lottery, there'd be one heck of an International gathering somewhere!

Maybe, and on a private island, with a huge model shop, and waitresses from the 'Breaking news' thread. Ferried there in a Catalina of course, with a Spitfire escort!
Now it's getting silly....or is it?!

I couldn't do any more on the 'Dora', as my hands are too stiff, but I was able to make some progress with the base. The iced-over 'puddles' are nearly finished, just needing a little more dusting, some edge-filling and more 'sheen', once the varnish has set. I managed to get some tyre tracks laid in, one of which has passed over a 'puddle', and cracked the 'ice'.
The base has been given an overall wet, frozen look, with the strips and lumps of 'ice' and 'melted snow' starting to look more the part. A couple more hours work, and it should be finished. All that needs doing on the aircraft now is the undercart indicator pegs, and the radio antenna wires, the latter being left until last. I had a little moment of 'extreme concern' (never say panic!) when I suffered a 'Dan Moment' - one of the undercarriage legs came off!
Fortunately, it had just separated from the locating slot, and wasn't damaged, and this is now setting again, having been cemented back in place.
All being well, the base should be completed, including a title card, and the 'Dora' in place by the weekend -that's the plan anyway.
The pics here show the overall base, still drying, and a couple of close shots of the 'snow' and 'puddles'.
Thanks again for your interest.

So, the Dora-9 became somewhat "legless" then? Don't want to hear that moment occur again with either of gents...!
