Thank you gentleman.

I might now switch to the engine and cowl, as the demarcation lines for the top cammo colours do not line up as it moves from the engine covers to the fuselage, i am thinking about assembling and painting this area first so i can try out the decals Andy supplied.
He is unsure if they will work given their age so my thoughts are do them now and if they do break up I've plenty of time to scrounge another set off Wayne

Good plan. As a reminder, I did spray on some preservative but it shot out of the can pretty quick and so the coat is quite thick. They may take some time to slide off the sheet, if that's what the decide to do!

Unfortunately the make up of the Hasegawa kit did not allow me to build and paint the engine and cowl as a separate unit.
so i cracked on and got lower wings engine and cowl and tails fitted

Good progress Karl. The rudder may not survive sustained flight though.

Yep, as its a separate piece i am leaving it till the day i start painting to not knock off the tiny mast on top
