| Help ID Insignia! I need some help verifying the markings on this German Imperial Albatros DII model plane...The "S" and "D.438/16" are the markings i am researching and trying to place to a particular Imperial air force squadron or any unit for that matter...all help is appreciated! dubs_28 ![]() ![]() |

| I think it is a number 5 not S. 16 I think refers to the aircraft type. That it is an Albatros D.II. 438 is the serial number, the 438 example built. |
