    Ju87 Part ? Pitomnik Airfield

It has been at least 7 years since I got this piece from Stalingrad - but I am pleased to say that tenacity has paid off and I can finally identify it. It is the side covering from an ETC 500 Bomb rack as shown in the images below. Possibly Ju87 ( both images are form Ju87) but possibly others...

    B-17 Pilot’s/Co-Pilot’s Seat Stenciling

This seat has on the base the sliders and the original springs which fit with it being mounted on the A-frame that was used for pilot and co pilot seat. The WOPS seats in the ealry models were not on an A- frame and were I thought on a rotating base.

    Swivel Chair/Seat

FYI it is in fact a chair from an AEC Dorchester Armoured Command Vehicle - as used by Monty and Rommel.

Pics from Halifax manual of the IP seat and Troop seat for reference. The placard under the IP seat does read as storage for Mae West and Oxygen mask.

    Swivel Chair/Seat

This arrived last week a remote auction purchase. Advertised as an aircraft chair. Only markings are K5 inked on the wooden base and stamped on the steel leg. The seat cushion is horse hair in hessian. It has a steel and leather construction. The 5 inch high drum is likely later to make it...

ID possible ww2 British plane seat

Looks like an IP Seat ( Important Person ) that was used on Air Transport Command aircraft. This was for the better off than the troop seat. So used on Halifax, Stirling, York, Warwick etc. There is one for sale in an antique shop in Edinburgh.

    Vickers Leading Edge

I spent many hours looking through Spitfire restorations and concluded that it could not be Spitfire as the construction = thick twin top hat dural structure - was not the same. I have eventually identified it as Short Stirling. The 3 at the front of the part number is the locater - the 29 is...

    Vickers Leading Edge

Tom definitely agree on parts being carried through - I have P40 with Hawk 75 part numbers; Halifax Mk 111 with 71 part numbers and later make Spitfire with 300 part numbers etc.. My only concern is the 07 vs 7 - the attached is a wing part on Graham Adlams page and it has an 08...

    Vickers Leading Edge

Thank you - I had been checking Spitfire as the numbering sequence looked right. The problem I had was that 291 i MK II but if it was wing it would have been followed by 07 and not 7. The 74 would imply floats and the Mk ii did not have floats. I spent several hours hunting through Spitfire...

    Vickers Leading Edge

This is a fairly well constructed piece with 4 top hat sections coming down to a leading edge. It was metal covered with two stringers per side and coming to bolt holes at top and bottom. It has multiple inspector stamps with V as well as part numbers 397488 and also MCMH and MHCH overstamped...

    Ju87 Part ? Pitomnik Airfield

Just remembered that I had an Me 109 Belly pan a few years back that had similar sized and font of stamping - numbers running 1 to 10 that to my mind looked more like fieldwork than factory. This was from a 109G that was recovered in Germany.

    Ju87 Part ? Pitomnik Airfield

Crimea the British Lozenge/captive nuts were used on the inside of the airframe - from the paint these appear to be on the outside and there is no suggestion of missing parts except traces of where a washer once was.
