WingScale 1:32 B-17G Flying Fortress
This sure does look to be a cracking model. Can't wait to see the reviews of it when it finally comes out next yr. Might be tempted myself.:lol::lol:
Thanks Airframes. Coming from you, that means a lot. :thumbright:
Now to start my next build. A Revell's 1/225 HMS Victory. As this is my 1st ever boat build, this should prove interesting, to say the least.
Thanks for that Airframes. Will defo look out for them.
Well I've finally finished my 1st model. Took me about 5hrs today to finish off the decals. I can honestly say I really enjoyed doing this. OK, its not perfect by all means, but its a start, and like everyone says, you have to start...
Thanks for your comments guys.
Dirk it took about 3 coats to get the olive green just right, mainly because i used a different brush on the 2nd coat, and I didn't like the look of it, so I tried again with the 1st brush. I started putting on the decals this afternoon, and I'm half way through...
Thanks Wurger. Considering I painted it all with a brush it didn't turn out too bad I recon. Just a few little things left to attach and then it on to the decals. oh joy
Finally managed to do some more on my 1st model. Spent yesterday painting and I think it's turned out a lot better than I expected it too. Here are some photo's of my progess.
Sorry about the pics. I did resize them before uploading. They were originally 2 meg in size. Don't know what happened when I uploaded them. I'll double check next time before uploading.

Thanks guys. I did my first top colour coat last night. Need to do another coat today and then I will take some more pics. 2 of the engines keep falling off, no matter how much paint I put on. It's driving me nuts.
Glad it turned up Pete. Its a nice kit. Basic mind you but nice. The B-17G is a lot more detailed from what I have read and seen. Enjoy you kit. I know I am.:lol::lol:
Ok as promised here are some pics I took the other day. Please be gentle with me after seeing them lol
The top under coat needs another coat before I can start mixing the colours for the final scheme. The reason why there is only 3 engines on the sucker is because 1 fell off yesterday :oops...
Finally managed to get some more of this build done this week. She is now fully assembled and had a coat of light grey to act as a primer. Will try to take some pics later on. Need to find the charger for the camera. As its my birthday day, I received the Airfix 1/350th HMS Illustrious from the...
