Here are a couple of drawings I found on the Internet that might address your problem. There ARE a couple of faults in these drawings I have found such as the length of the pitot tube (compare to the common photo of Ira Kepford's Corsair), and the doors for the main landing gear. The dimensions in the drawings seem reasonable, but I don't even know HOW to go about verifying them.

Enjoy!
- Ivan.

Thumbs up Thanks to all the contributors

This is by far the best WW2 aircraft forum/web site on the net!
My students (at New River Community College) who are in the Advanced Parametric 3D modeling class will be able to create some extremely detailed models for their final projects.

You guys ROCK!

for those who want our CAD website is: NEW RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE | CAD AIDED DESIGN

Once the models are completed I'll have them posted on a new thread.

thanks again!

Regarding 3D Models, I also build planes for Combat Flight Simulator. Here is a thread that has screenshots from a few of my projects. The dimensions of the Corsair are simply wrong in my model, but it was one of my first and the actual mechanics of using AF99 were of greater concern than finding really accurate drawings.

- Ivan.

P.S. Yes, there is a F4U-1A Corsair at the bottom.

Some more, from the Vought web page, many Vought examples there from 1917-1969. not detail fine blueprints, just line drawings.

F4U-1 through F4U-5N composite with cross sections and other details
F4U-5N
PDF file of the F4U-4 Illustrated Assembly Breakdown

A few other misc. line drawings of F4U's are there as well Vought heritage page
