I'm wondering about usage of available external weapons on late models of main Luftwaffe fighters (Bf 109, Fw 190) during last months of war (from autumn 1944 to spring 1945). I mean, gunpods carrying 20 and 30 mm weapons, figuring among available armaments also of, e.g., Bf 109G-10 and Fw...

In the Wiki page for the Macchi C.202 Folgore it says some pilots removed guns to save weight. Is there any other sources out there of other pilots doing the same thing?
