The bridge kill op will be a massive affair of hundreds of drones and fake missiles to overwhelm Russian radar and soak up Russian SAMS, combined with huge electronic jamming and subterfuge, all to distract from the half dozen inbound ATACMS.

Just do the Blazing Saddles trick and set up a toll booth at each end - cash only in Ukrainian currency. They'll be jammed up for
weeks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ukrainian air assets deployed for such an important target.

It would be a wicked inaugural strike for the newly arrived F-16s armed with Storm Shadows, like this one below. Imagine ACTACMS and Storm Shadows approaching the Kerch bridge from all directions. You'd want a massive ECM effort alongside to keep the Vipers safe - is there a MiG-29 or Su-27 Wild Weasel spec? We can also expect a heavily-escorted NATO E-3 Sentry presence just outside the combat zone relaying airops to the UAF.

OR..leave it standing. Putin will saturate the area with defenses to protect his crown jewel. Defenses protecting a possibly compromised bridge, Defensive assets that might have been used to counter expected Ukrainian assaults. I am the most brilliant strategist I ever met but those guys President Zelenskyy has working for him seem pretty smart.

The US and NATO dithering throughout 2023 and into 2024 on support to Ukraine has added an additional year at least to this war. By summer 2025 Ukraine will have the military capability that had it possessed in summer 2023 would have stomped Russia. Now 2024 is going to be about slowing and stopping Russia's advance, 2025 will be about incremental Ukrainian gains, while 2026 and 2027 will now be about pushing Russia out of Ukraine, including Crimea, with total victory likely now not possible until 2028 or even 2030. If he lives, Putin will be about 78 years old then.
