Model: Tamiya 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 'Razorback'
Add-ons: Loon Models Resin Search and Rescue accessories, The 5th ERS Decal set.

This aircraft belongs to Lt. Thomas E Barket and was based with the 5th Emergency Rescue Squadron, based at Boxted.
This particular aircraft was lost on 13th March 1945 when it collided mid air with B-24 liberator 42-50359 'TARFU'.

So thanks to all that helped me out. Couldn't have got this finished as well as I have without it.

Thanks all, now time to start improving.

Terry - only a semi gloss as I was to impatient to wait and go to the LMS to get some.
Failure on my part but I have had the decals for close to a year now and a couple broke up on application.
Will apply clear coat to them in future before application.

Terry - yep it's me typing gobbledygook that confused things.
I meant yes I did apply to model before decal application. But only a semi gloss.

OK, thanks Chris. You'll find that a full gloss coat will make application easier, and the decals will adhere and 'bed down' better. Once fully set, any decal residue is easily cleaned off, and then apply another gloss coat, followed by the finish clear coat as required - that is, matt, semi-matt, gloss or whatever is needed for the finish of the real aircraft.
