So this is a sawed off piece of a prop from a "WWII crash in the UK." The guy I bought it from in turn bought it from the "Treasure Bunker" in Glasgow, Scotland in 2005. I know nothing of the "Treasure Bunker," or its reputation for selling "treasures." There are no markings on the piece that I can find. It's hard to see from the photos, but the leading edge protectors are olive-drab in color and there's evidence of yellow tips. If it is a military prop, I suspect that it might be from a training aircraft and not from any kind of shot down fighter or bomber (unless maybe Wilbur Wright somehow convinced the War Dept to buy Wright Flyers for bomber escort). Anyway, guesses are welcome. You guys are awesome.
