This is a rather lengthy but very interesting video on the P-38 with many personal accounts. At about 37:10 min is a picture of what appears to be a P-38 with four bombs under the inner wings as well as two drop tank pylons.

Indeed, it appears that way

Gentlemen

I found that picture in the book Adorimini on page 232. The caption indicates in is an 82 FG Lightning and that the bombs are 500 pounders. In Lambert's book on the 14th FG, there is a picture of the 82nd's droop snoot which looks to have three 500 pounders under the wing between the pilot's pod and one engine, can't tell if the same load was carried on the other side. If my calculations are correct, 2 165 gallon drop tanks and four 500 pound bombs would put the P-38 at about 21,400 +/- pounds, the upper weight limit.

It appears that these loads were carried in early 1945.

Had this configuration also but not sure whether larger bombs than AN M57 could be carried on the outer pylons.
