Which Model P-40?

I recently picked up this instrument panel from a crashed P-40 and would love to know which model it belonged to. From what I've able to see on the internet, I'm guessing an E, but I'd never bet a nickel on any of my guesses.

Thanks as always!
P-40D and E

K and M models used the 87-61-524 panels according to the parts catalogues.

To add to the confusion - a different manual, which does not include anything prior to the K says:
  • the -522 board was used on the K and L
  • the -524 board was used on the K, K-1 and L with this note so if mod 65 was the extra light then MAYBE this is the one you have and it was only used on L-1 aircraft

  • aircraft 42-10430/10479 were Curtiss P-40L-1-CU aircraft
  • the -524-10 board was used on the L
This manual also says the M model uses the same instrument installation as the K and K-1 but does not identify the panel part number but presumably is the -524 as listed in the Parts Catalog. My K parts catalog only says -524.
