There you go, a new wrinkle in your brain.

Today I shot the departure of the EC-121 from Camarillo. The EC-121 was the electronic combat version of the Lockheed Constellation. At one time, Camarillo Airport had 2 Connies. One of them was sold a few years a go to become the Breitling Connie. This one left to go to the Yanks Air Museum in Chino and will likely never fly again. Sad to see it go.

Thanks. I think it would take some work to make a Connie look ugly. There were a lot of sad faces around Camarillo as it left.

    I'll bet.
As always Eric, your shot more than do her justice.

While I am sad that it won't fly again, knowing that it's at Chino is somewhat comforting. It'll be at the Yanks Air Museum on permanent static display. I hope they make the inside available to see too. It's quite something inside. The APSoCal crowd worked this one great. APSoCal is Aviation Photographers of Southern California. We're a local photo club. The coverage from our group was awesome. I think we captured about every possible angle of the aircraft from departure to touchdown. It was probably one of the most well documented aviation events in Southern California for quite some time. It makes me look forward to the Shuttle coverage when they bring that in.

Nice pictures Eric of a very graceful machine. Often did role changes on these kites when working in the Middle East in the mid 60s.

My wife, Laura. picked up a new t-shirt for me. I think it is appropriate for this forum.

    Love the shirt, Eric!

Perhaps an engraved wooden plaque that reads: "Flying gives me wood" would be a good one too!
