I'm not going to say much about Heinrich Bartels, his military career is very well documented. He had a personal tally of some 96 aircraft destroyed and was nominated for Oak Leaves of the Knights Cross. Having reached his 99th aerial victory, Heinrich Bartlet while supporting German forces during the Battle of the Bulge becoming the victim of a P-47 Thunderbolt of the US 56th Fighter Group on the 23 December 1944. He was posted as missing in action and it was not until January 1968 when the remains of his fighter were found near Bad Godesberg, Germany.

Thank you very much Gents. It has been a slow start but I decided to try and sort out some cockpit side wall detail once the parts had been given the coat of paint.

Here you can see I've added a little detail, mainly the drop tank fuel line and some squiggly bits of wire. I used sheathed electric cable but forgot to rough it up with a bit of emery. Consequently I've spent a great deal of time trying to get them stuck down.

The Inst panel is a 3D decal that had to be modified a little. My apologies for the focus, but you'll get the gist.

I was thinking with this build of doing the camo spray on the fuselage at this stage before cockpit details and wings were added. The fuselage side wall camo is quite blotchy with both camo colours and without the wings in the way it should be a doddle (tongue in cheek talk).

Wow Vic, this is a gorgeous camouflage!

Great choice Vic, got a 1/32 G-6 sitting ready to paint in this scheme....don't forget to apply the ERLA saw tooth pattern on the wings....! :)
Thanks for this Wayne, the instructions don't even touch on these tooth pattern wings and I've had to do a bit of hunting to find an original pic at the right angle showing them. :thumbright: :D

Most of the cockpit is done with the exception of the seat harness which I'm expecting tomorrow, hopefully. I've started work on the fuselage particularly with the mind to camo spray it without wings. Looking at the machine gun nose cover I decided to place a shelf on the inside so that the gun barrels would just slide into position without fear of them falling into the vacant space below.

The small shelf and a brass gun barrel.

The cover with a barrel test fitted.

Hopefully I'll get some more little bit sorted tomorrow. :D
